Hello!!!
I've a question... What are ideal measures for a tank for 2 axolotls?
is it a 125x50x50cm tank (300 l) a good space? Or is it too small?

Thanks

Heya

The 300 Litre tank you have in mind there will be excellent for two Axolotls, you could have 3-4 in there without issues - that is assuming you provide a good number of hiding places.

Ok, thanks you ;)!
I have some ideas for the set-up yet:D.
I think to put some lights on half of the tank (only 2 or 3 neon 15 watt) for the plants, that will collocate in the lighting zone... and the other space without lights and free for swimming (only with some hiding places and rocks).
Is it ok?

I'm also some doubts for the substrate...
I don't understand if is better the sand or fine gravel or coarse gravel!!!!
Personally I like the sand, but I'm afraid that axolotls eat it:uhoh:
What is the best type of substrate?

Thanks!

sand is good and small(1mm) gravel that the axie can pass any thing bigger can cause problems if eaten> My axie had sand and any got in mouth it seemed to get spat back out

Yeah, sorry about the late reply, seem to be having problems logging on to the site.

But yes, sand is perfect!

And the lighting plan sounds fine, just make sure you can keep the temperature in the right region (16-18 degrees).
Sometimes the lighting can really heat up an aquarium if you dont do it right.
