So I raised a batch of axolotl eggs in the early spring of 2016. It was successful and I have kept one for my self. He is a male and has recently developed the dark toe tips which indicate sexual maturity. However I have also noticed white/pink spots around his gills, mainly on the lowest Gill either side. I thought initially it was fungus but since looking on Google at axolotl fungus, I do not think it looks quite the same. Before I begin any treatment on him, I was wondering if anyone would be able to identify this and point me in the right direction. I have included some pictures of the patches also. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! ?
