Hi everyone! Just wanted to post a couple pictures of my axies I got from Jay back in mid January. They've been doing great and growing fast. They've both gained almost two inches since I got them. I've been feeding blackworms and earthworms. They're in a ten gallon tank right now until they get a bit bigger, they've got a 50g waiting for them ;) here's my thread on it. http://www.caudata.org/forum/f46-beginner-newt-salamander-axolotl-help-topics/f48-axolotls-ambystoma-mexicanum/f59-tank-set-ups-filters-substrate/73372-50-gallon-tank-build.html

The white one is Appa, and the wild type is Grindylow. Hope you like them!

You have some very cute axies there. I love your cave with the plants on it.....looks great.

Very nice axolotls.
Why are they seperated?

What sort of filter do you have on your 10gallon? : ) Or am I mistaken in my spotting of an underwater filter??

Thanks guys :)

SanderB - I separated them because they're still juveniles and I've always read that juveniles tend to nip at each other. Also, the wild type is a good inch longer than the white one so I don't want to take any chances.

Kochi- The filter is just a big sponge filter

great looking axies there, you've done the right thing by separating them until you re-home them in the bigger tank.

50 gallons is a nice size that will house 2 axies comfortably with the proper maintenance and lots of hides and visual barriers to provide them with a sense of space.
