Crane fly larvae eat plant roots. There are aquatic, semi-aquatic, and terrestrial crane flies. Adult crane flies do not bite or eat mosquitos. Most eat nothing at all as adults. Some eat necter. Grubs are great salamander food and fish bait for trout. These were found in the first inch of soi
