Thanks huug. These salamanders were crossing the road near my house a few years ago. I moved them to a pond near where they were found after I photographed them. There is a small breeding population there that I check on every year. So far there is no activity there yet this year. This is odd because in my area, all Ambystomid breeding is usually done by late February. Must be the weather.
