I have a couple eastern newts. I just noticed in the past 1-2 days that this guys tail is a deeper red than the rest of his orange body. Any idea what is going on? He does seem to be not moving as much so not sure if he's sick.
Also asking for help to know when they are ready to move to the aquatic stage- these were found outdoors in the grass so not really sure if my enclosed should have more of a water feature.
