Hi all!! I have just joined the site, but have been reading through so many things for a while now and I am so excited to finally join this amazing community :)

I have just gotten my first axolotl, a most beautiful golden albino called Aztec, and he (or at least i think it's a he) is my new best friend. Kinda sad, but so awesomely true :) He is currently in a smaller tank while my big 4 foot tank is cycling - almost done!
I am taking in my friend's leucistic albino as she sadlt can't keep him anymore, and i have just bought an amazing wild type from the local aquarium

I have several other pets including rats, sugar gliders, bettas, and dogs and i love them all dearly

I love zoology and have now recently become obsessed with the amazing and adorable critters known as amphibians

This forum and community is just so amazing and I am so happy to now be a part of it. Can't wait to share experiences and learn from the best out there :)

Hello JealousVixy and welcome to the forum! Quite a collection of animals you have!

Thank you :D
Haha yeah, it does seem a lot when i look back on them; I'm sure it only started with one dog and one goldfish, but it just kept growing and growing into this beautiful loving family that i simply adore :)
It certainly keeps me busy, and with year 12 underway things are slightly hectic, but i don't think i would be where i am without the support of my beautiful animal friends.

sounds kind of cheesy though :p

Don't worry, your not the only one who has a amphibian for a best friend :)

Sugar gliders! That's awesome! I wish I had sugar gliders, lucky you! I am rather Jealous of you JealouseVixy xD Sorry, I just had to throw that lame joke out there.

You are not alone in loving your lotl. Mine has developed the most endearing habit of standing on his tiptoes, reaching up towards me with his little hands whilst gazing adoringly up into my eyes. Most successful in getting him fed worms, which he is now swimming up to take from my hand. Adorable. I have now put a stool in front of his tank so I don't end up sitting on the floor for hours watching him. Sad? Possibly. But like I said, we are not alone, as this site proves.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
