Publications Specialising in Newts & Salamanders
- Caudata.org
Magazine - The only English language publication
that deals exclusively with newts and salamanders. Not only is it authoritative, it's
written primarily by and for the enthusiast and professional
working with newts in captivity.
The Rest
The rest of the publications on this page are general herpetological publications and only deal with newts and salamanders as a small part of each issue (although some issues may not contain any information on newts and salamanders).
Breck Bartholomew's
herplit.com has a very extensive searchable database of herpetological journals and magazines, and it's a great starting place if you want to find out which publications are relevant to you.
Although many of these journals are primarily aimed at scientists working with herpetiles, some are written by and aimed at hobbyists.
Most of the better journals aimed at hobbyists are not written in the English language.
Again, the list is probably just a sample of the publications out there, so if you have any additional publication information,
please make
contact. Where a publication is noted as a society journal, the society's contact information can be found on the
Societies
Page.
