Nice photos, it seems you have several different tylototriton. Underneath your larvae shot seems to be T.vietnamensis, underneath that a female E.andersoni in water, and the darker "emaciated" form probably is vietnamensis as well in my experience....which has already been described.
May I ask if you collected these yourself or prurchased them at a shop?

It isn't T.vietnamensis for the dark/ black croc newt and the one in the water.
Because they are both from China.

I can say they are similar, but they aren't

Yes ,I understand the one in water is not vietnamensis, it looks like a Echinotriton andersoni female :)
It is possible vietnamensis are also found in southern china given that they occur in northern vietnam. There has already been talk of a darker northern subspecies of vietnamensis.
Do you know where they came from in China?? Did you collect these yourself??

Very interesting pictures!

could you please write the species name correctly? Not everyone in the forum knows that for T.S. you meant Tylototriton shanjing. For example I didn't understand what you meant for T.A. Was it Tylototriton asperrimus? If you coluld write the whole word at least for the species it would help many people that are not tylototriton experts to understand what you're talking about.
Cheers

Turbo, how did you acquire these? Did you collect them yourself or did you purchase them through a buyer? i am very intrigued by the first foto, it doesnt look like a shanjing nor does it look like a verrocous.

I really enjoyed looking at these photos as well Turbo, especially the odd color variations. I also have to ask - did you find these yourself or did you purchase them?

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
